Terms of Use
Effective October 26, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Slides VC, Inc. ("Slides.vc," "we," "us"). They govern your use of slides.vc and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account, uploading a document, or opening a Slides.vc link, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service for a company, you agree on behalf of that company and confirm you have authority to do so.
Section 14 contains a binding arbitration agreement and class-action waiver. You can opt out of arbitration within 30 days, as explained there.
1. The Service
Slides.vc lets founders and their teams upload pitch decks and other documents, encrypt them in the browser, share them through private links and data rooms, see who viewed them, and generate AI-assisted summaries ("TLDRs"). Viewers, usually investors, open those links.
The Service is currently free. We may introduce paid features later; we will tell you before anything you use starts to cost money.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract.
- Accounts are tied to an email address. You log in with one-time codes or links sent to that address. Keep your email account secure; anyone who controls it can log in as you.
- Give accurate information and keep it current.
- When you enter your email to view a document, we create a basic account for that email so you can find the document again. These Terms apply to that account too.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and on your team. Tell us right away at hello@slides.vc if you think your account has been compromised.
3. Your content
You own your content. "Your content" means the documents, images, logos, text, links, and other material you upload or add, and the TLDR drafts generated from them.
License to us. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process, transmit, and display your content only as needed to run, secure, and improve the Service, and to show it to the people you share it with. This includes sending document text to our AI provider to draft TLDRs in the cases described in the Privacy Policy, and showing your team thumbnail as the link preview image when a link is shared. The license ends when you delete the content, except for deleted documents we keep for 7 days so they can be restored, copies in backups for a limited time, and copies others already obtained through links you shared.
Your responsibilities. You confirm that you have the rights needed to upload and share your content, including any information about other people (such as co-founders, employees, or customers) in it, and that sharing it does not break any law, contract, or confidentiality obligation.
Encryption and keys. Document files are encrypted in your browser, and the key is part of the share link. Anyone with a full link can open the document, so you are responsible for who you send links to and for turning off links you no longer want used. Some items are not link-encrypted, including the first-page image, team logo and thumbnail, document titles, and TLDRs; see the Privacy Policy. Your account keeps a copy of each link's key so you can reopen your links. That copy is stored on our servers, access to it is restricted, and our team does not open your documents. If that copy and every copy of the link are lost, we cannot recover the document.
AI summaries. Our AI drafts a TLDR only when you click "Auto-populate my TLDR", when you add a document from your account without turning on "Don't auto-populate my TLDR", or when you apply through the Black Flag form. AI drafts may be wrong or incomplete. Review and edit them before you share. You are responsible for what your TLDR says to investors.
4. Viewers
If you open a document or data room shared through Slides.vc:
- The content belongs to the person or company that shared it. Your access to it is governed by them, and any confidentiality terms they set apply between you and them.
- The person who shared it will see the information the link asks for (such as your email and name) and your viewing activity, as described in the Privacy Policy.
- Do not try to get around access controls, passwords, or email checks, and do not enter someone else's email address.
5. Acceptable use
You will not use the Service to:
- Upload or share anything illegal, infringing, defamatory, harassing, or that you do not have the right to share.
- Send spam, phishing, malware, or fraudulent investment solicitations, or misrepresent yourself, your company, or your fundraise.
- Offer securities in violation of securities laws. Slides.vc is a document-sharing tool, not a broker-dealer, funding portal, or investment adviser, and does not review or endorse any offering.
- Collect viewer or user data for purposes unrelated to the document being shared, or resell it.
- Probe, scan, or test the Service's security, overload it, or get around rate limits, bot checks, or access controls, except through a security disclosure to hello@slides.vc.
- Scrape, copy, or reverse engineer the Service, or use it to build a competing product.
- Create accounts in bulk or with disposable email addresses.
We may remove content, disable links, or suspend accounts that we reasonably believe violate these Terms or put the Service or others at risk. Because document files are encrypted, we do not review their contents; we act on reports, the information we hold outside link encryption, and other signals.
6. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties, such as our hosting, email, AI, and logo providers, and embeds content from services like YouTube, Vimeo, and Loom. Their terms govern their services, and we are not responsible for them.
7. Feedback
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without any obligation to you.
8. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and branding, belongs to us and our licensors. These Terms do not give you any rights to it except to use the Service as these Terms allow.
9. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent, Mat Vogels, at Slides VC, Inc., 10033 Silver Maple Rd, Littleton, CO 80129, or hello@slides.vc, with: your contact information; the work you claim is infringed; the link where the material appears; a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and you are authorized to act. We may disable the link and, for repeat infringers, terminate the account.
10. Ending your use
You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your documents and rooms in the app. To delete your account, email hello@slides.vc. We may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service; where reasonable, we will give notice and a chance to download your content first. Sections 3 (license survival and your responsibilities), 7, 8, and 11 through 15 survive termination.
11. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, THAT CONTENT WILL NOT BE LOST, THAT ANALYTICS WILL BE COMPLETE OR ACCURATE, OR THAT AI SUMMARIES WILL BE CORRECT. NOTHING ON THE SERVICE IS INVESTMENT, LEGAL, OR TAX ADVICE.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SLIDES.VC AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITIES, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD THEY WERE POSSIBLE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AND (B) US $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these limits, so they may not apply to you.
13. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify Slides.vc against third-party claims, and related losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees), arising from your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or of law.
14. Disputes, arbitration, and governing law
Please read this section carefully. It affects how disputes are resolved and waives your right to a jury trial and to bring class actions.
- Talk to us first. Before filing a claim, email hello@slides.vc with a description of the dispute, and give us 30 days to try to resolve it informally.
- Binding arbitration. If we cannot resolve it, you and Slides.vc agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service ("Dispute") will be resolved by final, binding individual arbitration, not in court. The arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules or, if you use the Service for a business, its Commercial Arbitration Rules. It will be held in Douglas County, Colorado, or by video, phone, or written submissions if the arbitrator allows. The arbitrator may award the same individual relief a court could, and the Federal Arbitration Act governs this section. Fees are paid as the AAA rules provide.
- Exceptions. Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies, and either party may ask a court for an injunction to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property or unauthorized access to the Service.
- Class action waiver. Disputes will be resolved only on an individual basis. Neither you nor Slides.vc may bring or take part in a class, collective, consolidated, or representative action or arbitration. If this waiver is found unenforceable for a claim, that claim will go to court, not arbitration, under the next bullet.
- Opt out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing hello@slides.vc within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, with your name, account email, and a clear statement that you opt out of arbitration. Opting out does not affect the rest of these Terms.
- Governing law and courts. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any Dispute not subject to arbitration (including if you opt out) will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Douglas County, Colorado, and you and Slides.vc consent to their jurisdiction.
15. General
- Changes. We may update these Terms. For material changes, we will notify account holders by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms.
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
- Assignment. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent. We may transfer them in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- Severability and waiver. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Not enforcing a provision is not a waiver.
- No agency. These Terms do not create a partnership, employment, or agency relationship.
- Notices. We may send notices to your account email. Send notices to us at hello@slides.vc and 10033 Silver Maple Rd, Littleton, CO 80129.
